Walnut Creek is a city in Contra Costa County located in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area and around 16 miles east of the city of Oakland. Well known as the business and entertainment hub for neighboring cities, Walnut creek provides a chic vibe and array of amenities ranging from shipping centers and farmers markets to great schools and parks. Walnut Creek’s strength as a community lies in its beautiful, unique neighborhoods. 

Single-family detached homes are the single most common housing type in Walnut Creek, accounting for 37.68% of the city's housing units. Other types of housing that are prevalent in Walnut Creek include large apartment complexes or high rise apartments (34.53%), duplexes, homes converted to apartments or other small apartment buildings (13.79%), and a few row houses and other attached homes (13.64%). There is a lot of housing in Walnut Creek built from 1970 to 1999 so parts of town may have that "Brady Bunch" look of homes popular in the '70s and early '80s, although some of these houses were built up through the early '90s as well.
